Ms. Subair is the eldest daughter of Dr. Henry and Valencia Subair. She was born in Bermuda 1976. She attended Harrington Sound Primary School and Warwick Academy before she continued her education overseas. In 1993, Ms. Subair enrolled in the Bishop Strachan School (“BSS”) in Ontario, Canada where she graduated with OAC certificates in 1995. Ms. Subair then pursued her interests in language at Bordeaux Language School in France where she became fluent in French. In 1999, Ms. Subair obtained her law degree from University of Buckingham with a minor degree in French. She subsequently became a member of Lincoln’s Inn and was called to the Bar of England & Wales in 2000 before her call to the Bermuda Bar one year later in 2001.

Ms. Subair served as Crown Counsel in the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (“DPP’S Office”) from 2000-2004 where she conducted numerous prosecutions in all of the Bermuda Courts. During her tenure in the DPP’s Office, Ms. Subair quickly secured her place as a well known advocate by virtue of her consistent and highly competent courtroom performance. From 2004-2007 she occupied the post as Bermuda’s first Legal Aid Counsel. In this capacity, she acquired further valuable litigation experience in criminal, family, and civil practice while simultaneously maintaining significant managerial and administrative office responsibilities. Further, Ms. Subair regularly represented the Legal Aid Office as an advisor to the Attorney General and Minister of Justice on legislative reform. In furtherance of this role, she sat on many legal reform committees chaired by the AG in company with the Chief Justice, the Senior Magistrate and the Registrar of Supreme Court in addition to a range of other governmental department heads.

In 2005, Ms. Subair was sworn before the Chief Justice as an Acting Magistrate and has since which regularly sat on the benches of the Magistrates’ Court trying substantive criminal, civil and family  jurisdiction cases.

In 2007, Ms. Subair shifted the focus of her practice to commercial litigation and reinsurance arbitration when she joined private law firm Attiride - Stirling & Woloniecki (“ASW”) as an associate. During her tenure with ASW, she worked closely with the principals of the firm and often appeared in the Supreme Court for complex commercial trials.

Ms. Subair has also dedicated her efforts to ensuring the proper enforcement of civil liberties and constitutional rights in her capacity as Chair of the Human Rights Commission from January 2010.

Outside of the legal arena, Ms. Subair has actively participated in charitable fundraising as President of the Kardias Club from 2007 to date. Historically known as the Alpha Wives Club, The Kardias Club is a registered Bermuda charity with approximately forty-five members therein. Ms. Subair is also a long term member of the Bermuda Lawn and Tennis Association and the Bermuda Chess Club.
